Images capture making of climate change displays

Anyone walking in the side streets off London’s Oxford Street may come across a set of huge portraits highlighting regions devastated by climate change.

The enormous free display forms part of the second exhibition at the Soho Photography Quarter.

Called Fire/Flood, it features works by London-based photographer Gideon Mendel who visits hit areas by flooding or wildfires to document the destruction.

Photos shared with the BBC show how he created the works.

‘Criminal Minds’ producers settle sexual harassment lawsuit for $3 million

The production company behind the CBS police procedural “Criminal Minds” has agreed to pay $3 million to settle a lawsuit brought by the state of California on behalf of crew members who allege they were sexually harassed by the show’s director of photography and then retaliated against for complaining, the state announced.

The California Civil Rights Department sued the Disney-owned production unit ABC Signature and other people in May 2020, alleging that they violated the Fair Employment and Housing Act, the Ralph Civil Rights Act and a state law that bars sexual harassment in business or professional relationships .

Doorbell camera catches moose losing its antlers

ANCHORAGE, Ak. (KTUU/Gray News) – A couple in Alaska said their doorbell camera recorded a moose leaving behind a surprise Christmas gift.

Tyra Bogert and her husband watched the doorbell’s live stream when they got an alert that something was moving in front of their house.

While it’s not unusual for a doorbell camera to spot a moose in Anchorage, this time was different.

The couple watched as the moose started shaking and then both its antlers fell off.

‘She didn’t ask to do this’

A bride is upset that her mom is giving her wedding photos away as Christmas gifts.

She asked Reddit’s “Wedding” forum for advice. The bride recently learned that her mother is printing a wedding photo of the family, changing it to black-and-white and framing it to give as gifts.

Michael Weintrob’s instrumental photography – CBS News

If you happen to walk past Michael Weintrob’s photography studio in East Nashville, Tennessee, you’d notice something unusual happening inside. A ’58 Stratocaster guitar donning a fake mustache and sunglasses has come to life like a rock ‘n’ roll creature emerging from the depths of some hellacious music studio.

The subject of the portrait is actually legendary rocker John Oates, and that guitar, purchased in 1973 on NYC’s Upper West Side for $125, has appeared on every Hall & Oates record to date.

“I think that these instruments are an extension of who these musicians are,” Weintrob told CBS News.
