The 2023 Leica Repair Tech List – The Thoughts & Photography of Johnny Martyr

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to use their aged or damaged Leica equipment…

In 2019, I posted the aptly titled 2019 Leica Repair Tech List. Since then, I’ve dealt with some other techs and a few shops, sadly, have closed their doors.

So here’s an updated list for the new year, 2023. Both of shops I’ve used, and ones that my colleagues have recommended, who love to work on Leica cameras and lenses. My list is United States biased because that’s where I live and am the most familiar with.

Locations of Macon school zone speeding cameras

Macon-Bibb County began installing cameras and sensors in school zones last year to help catch and ticket speeding drivers.

The first three cameras were installed at Ballard-Hudson Middle, Weaver Middle and Westside High School last April. They have been running since then, though Bibb County did waive some tickets from last fall since many people were not aware of the cameras or their tickets.

Sony to Launch Space Photography Service Star Sphere

Space, the final frontier…of consumer photography?

Sony seems to think so with their new Star Sphere project, imploring everyday photographers to become “crew members” and “acquire Space perspectives” together.

If it all sounds a bit much, well, you’re like the rest of us but it also sounds really cool and exciting.

What is Star Sphere?
