Two girls portrait BFF shooting

Frequent readers of this blog know that once in a while I take on photo shooting gigs like portrait sessions, an occasional wedding or a fashion shoot. This time it was Big Girl asking me to do a BFF photoshooting for her and her bestie. They asked for an outdoor setting with different backgrounds, so I took the girls to the Dillberg, a little mountain to the southeast of Nuremberg where we had lots of fun during the golden hour. See a few photographs from the BFF session after the jump…

The light on that summer evening was really beautiful, and the two girls were perfect models. Always important during a portrait session is to have fun, and fun we sure had.

I was hoping to get my defect Leica back from repairs in time for the session, but it eventually arrived half a week late. So I shot with my trusted Olympus OM-D E-M1X and the mZuiko 12-100 F/4 pro zoom, a proven combo that I also used on wedding gigs and that is a versatile as it gets.

I dislike fiddling around with different bodies and lenses during a photo session, as it disrupts the flow, I find. So it’s max two bodies, one with a versatile high quality zoom, and then another with a 50mm fast prime. Knowing what these camera-lens combos can do, and being able to operate them practically blindfolded, I can fully focus on the shooting itself.

And the girls were sure happy with the images they got out of the BFF photoshooting .

Wish you a great Sunday
